Still trying to find ways to turn this into a Vietnam repeat? Seems like it from here and it's a shame.

Sorry, advice from Generals who are THERE trump input from lawmakers across the pond in a time of war. Or at least they should.

But Democratic Representative Jim McGovern warned that "enlarging our military footprint in Afghanistan would be a mistake."
"I think it would be counterproductive," he said, adding that the United States is "going bankrupt.
"

This is sending a message that the US is vulnerable due to it's current financial position.

cheers

Your a ****wit chump don't worry you will be scrubbing grafitti off the great wall in a few years

I just posted a piece of the relevent article to highlight that the state of the economy was being listed as 1 of the reasons extra troops may not be sent. In fact I am genuinely surprised that a member of the gov't actually voiced their concerns in this are.

I love this mentality of our congress... "here we can spend this 'X' billions of dollars on health care, auto bailouts, bank bailouts, insurance company bailouts, stimulus package, cash for clunkers, etc... but I don't think we can afford to spend anything else on this war that we say is vital to our national security"

F***ing ridiculous

I was about to say something along these lines. I would also think that doing what needs to be done to get this war to an end (in our and Afghanistan's favor) would help our economy down the road. I mean, you don't spend money on a war that's over.

Umm, excuse me sir, but that would require us to win. Winning would make people not like us. That is unacceptable. To think you want an evil, rich, imperialistic country to win.

if we get blamed for it, we might as well do it. Let's just expand and start taking over places. Australia would be nice, we could call it the second Hawaii/with tons of deadly bugs.
